One Linlithgow Ltd – your business improvement district – has secured control of the town domain name Linlithgow.co.uk for the benefit of businesses and the wider community.
- Form a digital resource that OL will develop for the remainder of our term, and beyond (if businesses vote next year to retain OL for a further term.)
- Be used as a simple signpost for the public and visitors of where to go for local information.
- Offer our members the ability to advertise jobs available in town as part of our OL service, with no fees or commission payments for employers.
- Will hold a new business directory that will have filters that are integrated with Google maps, allowing a more interactive experience for users of the website.
One Linlithgow will integrate all online and offline marketing strategies around Linlithgow.co.uk, including the cover of the new Visitor guide, all print material, lamp-post banners, video productions, town merchandise and TV advertising.
All print material will use QR Codes that link to relevant sections on the website, including events, shopping, attractions, jobs and everything else it contains.
All traffic will be monitored to determine where users are from, how the site was accessed and their ‘entry’ point on the site. Trying not to get too technical, however, all links to Member websites will be ‘do follow’ backlinks to help with your own Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) efforts.
This will help form part of future strategic plans for the digital and real-world marketing of Linlithgow.
The OL Board believes this will be a hugely beneficial use of your valuable levy fees. It will increase the reach of Linlithgow’s appeal and generate increased footfall to the town.
