One Linlithgow Secures Linlithgow.co.uk

One Linlithgow Ltd – your business improvement district – has secured control of the town domain name Linlithgow.co.uk for the benefit of businesses and the wider community.

The new Linlithgow.co.uk website will sit alongside the current OneLinlithgow.com and MyLinlithgow.com sites, which will focus on Business Improvement District and community matters respectively, with both One Linlithgow (OL) and Linlithgow Community Development Trust (LCDT) collaborating on many projects in the future.

The website will:
  • Form a digital resource that OL will develop for the remainder of our term, and beyond (if businesses vote next year to retain OL for a further term.)
  • Be used as a simple signpost for the public and visitors of where to go for local information.
  • Offer our members the ability to advertise jobs available in town as part of our OL service, with no fees or commission payments for employers.
  • Will hold a new business directory that will have filters that are integrated with Google maps, allowing a more interactive experience for users of the website.

One Linlithgow will integrate all online and offline marketing strategies around Linlithgow.co.uk, including the cover of the new Visitor guide, all print material, lamp-post banners, video productions, town merchandise and TV advertising.

All print material will use QR Codes that link to relevant sections on the website, including events, shopping, attractions, jobs and everything else it contains.

All traffic will be monitored to determine where users are from, how the site was accessed and their ‘entry’ point on the site.  Trying not to get too technical, however, all links to Member websites will be ‘do follow’ backlinks to help with your own Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) efforts.

This will help form part of future strategic plans for the digital and real-world marketing of Linlithgow.

The OL Board believes this will be a hugely beneficial use of your valuable levy fees.  It will increase the reach of Linlithgow’s appeal and generate increased footfall to the town.

Linlithgow Visitor Guide 2023

Linlithgow Visitor Guide News

Following many painstaking hours reviewing the content of the 40-page Linlithgow Visitor Guide, a new version is being printed.

45,000 guides will be distributed throughout Central Scotland using Landmark Press, who have over 500 leaflet racks located in high footfall tourist areas and hotels in Edinburgh, Stirling, Falkirk and other visitor areas in the central belt of Scotland.

One of the key upgrades to the guide was to make it less time sensitive without specific event dates published.

Instead, there are website links and QR Codes throughout the publication, to allowing readers to scan with their phone to receive real-time information about what is going on in Linlithgow, not only for this summer, but into next year and beyond.

The guides are targeted at short-stay visitors looking for things to do and places to visit whilst in Scotland. The front cover of the new guide is below.
