One Linlithgow BID

Linlithgow is a special place. Its combination of history, community, tradition, and unique array of family-run, independent businesses, make it a great place to stay, work and visit. The One Linlithgow Business Improvement District (BID) aims to unite all the businesses, community, business and transport groups, leisure facilities and heritage sites to encourage them to work collectively to create a thriving and engaging environment for businesses, the community and visitors alike.

New laws regarding single-use plastics will come into force on 1 June 2022.  After this date, certain single-use plastics (see below) will be banned unless an exemption applies.  To learn how this might affect your business, visit Zero Waste Scotland for more information and guidance in preparation for the new legislation.

Cutlery (forks, knives, spoons, chopsticks and other similar utensils) | Plates | Beverage stirrers | Food containers made of expanded polystyrene | Cups made of expanded polystyrene | Exemptions may apply to plastic straws and plastic balloon sticks supplied in particular settings and circumstances.

Active Projects

New Signage

Our Mill Road Co-ordinator is working with BID members at the Mill Road Industrial Estate/Enterprise Park to update signage for the estate to help visitors find their way.  Once all the information has been collected, new signs will be ordered and installed.

At the request of BID members, a fence or hedging will be installed in the area between the Mill Road Industrial Estate/Enterprise Park and the motorway.  This will help improve security and enhance the area.  This project was delayed due to the pandemic but is now underway.

One Linlithgow is working with West Lothian Council (WLC) to arrange the placement of additional general waste bins in various locations around the town including opposite the Linlithgow Rose Football Club and in the Mill Road Industrial Estate/Enterprise Park.  The emptying of these bins will be included in WLC's collection calendar.
