Following a six-week voting period up to 5pm on Thursday 26th September 2024, businesses in Linlithgow town-based businesses have decided to continue as a Business Improvement District, or BID for short, for another five years until 30th September 2029.
In a separate ballot in the Mill Road Industrial Estate, the businesses voted not to continue as a separate BID for the estate.
The democratic results show that business owners for their respective trading areas have made clear decisions about the future direction they want, where their businesses are based.
Ballot Results
In the Linlithgow town area, there was a 40.9% turnout by number and 43.5% turnout by rateable value from all businesses eligible to vote. The Yes vote was 70.09% by number and 62.34% by rateable value.
In Mill Road, there was a 41.6% turnout by number and 40.1% turnout by rateable value from all businesses eligible to vote.
The No vote was 67.44% by number and 79.58% by rateable value.
